The Cowichan Lawn Bowling Club made its first ever entry into the annual Indoor Short Mat Bowling Tournament held in Victoria on the weekend.
Team members Lovey Pritchard and Stephen Rikley joined skip Percy Cowan making the trip over the Malahat to participate in the 2 bowl, 10 end tournament held at the Lakehill Bowling Club.
Although the score was less than ideal, the team did have its "Jamaican Bobsled Moment" when we scored 4 points in the final end of our first ever match.
Meeting new members of the bowling community and watching some amazing play was the highlight of our trip. One would wonder why Sports Net or TSN didn't broadcast the event live.
