On Friday night, the new green was a beautiful grey flat surface. Look what happened!
In reality, this was a planned event. Under Dave's guidance, the CC committee members raked in 22 bags of quality peat so that the new green has about a 8% peat base to help hold water. According to Dave, between 5% to 10% is the "sweet spot" he needs to achieve the ideal conditions for germination and growth.
All the work was done by hand. Douglas marked out 30 foot square plots and each member carefully placed the peat so that it was done right.
