I knew our backboards and plinths were not pretty. But, don't they look a whole lot worse piled on the back of the truck.
I was told that the cross pieces and the 4 x 4 posts were difficult to remove. The contractor had to use a backhoe to pull them out of the ground.
Below, you can see the backhoe removing the verge at the South End of the green to prepare the area for digging the ditch.
Goodbye old boards. We likely got our monies worth out of these backboards. They have kept our bowls on the greens for a lot of years. So long old friends!
