Day 1 - Mobilization

Work started today on the Cowichan Lawn Bowling Club green rebuild project.

Safety is a priority on the site. Fencing and signage is put up around the club to make sure no one gets hurt.

Then the equipment starts to roll in on site.

This backhoe will make short work of removing the old backboards and ditch.

This picture below shows how two of the crew are working on slitting the surround to prepare the verge area for excavation of the ditches.

As with most construction sites, a meeting and a safety talk is held beforehand to make sure everyone is aware of the work that will be happening during the day. Here you can see some of CLBC's finest that are volunteering their time to be on site to answer questions.
