Information for New Bowlers
The Cowichan Lawn Bowling Club offers many opportunities to try the sport of lawn bowls. On Sunday, April 19, 2020, we will host an Open House for everyone who would like to give lawn bowling a try. Our coaches will be on the green from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM. Also, during the week from Monday, April 20 until Friday, April 24, our coaches will be available to introduce new bowlers to the game. Remember, that lessons are ALWAYS FREE (and there is no obligation to join our club).

Even if you are unable to attend the Open House or Coaching Week, individual lessons are easily arranged by contacting one of our coaches:

Betty Locke (250) 748-6542 or Joyce Gammie (250) 246-2484

You can also contact us by sending an email to the club at cowichanclub3y1@gmail.com

All you need is a pair of flat-soled shoes with less than 1/4 inch tread and a desire to have fun. Remember... almost everyone can play the game... it is truly a game for life.

We have a good supply of club bowls for use by new bowlers and through their first year of membership. This gives a new bowler the chance to try different sizes & weights of bowls before deciding which bowls they should purchase for ongoing use.

If you would like to find out more about lawn bowling, go to the Potpourri section on our website and download the Members Handbook 2019. The Handbook provides a short history of the game, information about our club, how the game is played, a short description of club activities, and contacts for further information.
